When the Soft Hearted Scientists emerged from the Everyday Undergrowth with their Uncanny Tales in 2005, many were amazed. The NME said they were “a new legal high” and gave them 8/10, Uncut awarded ****, XFM playlisted them and The Fly magazine celebrated their “classic 21st century folk stories”.

And now, in 2007, the Soft Hearted Scientists re-emerge. Take Time To Wonder In A Whirling World is an exquisite step on from their wondrous debut. An alarming flood of melody washes over this album, each song packed with sounds to stun, tunes to hum and tales of wonder.

The Whirling World takes listeners all the way from the Brecon Beacons to the Milky Way via Siberia. Opening with A470 Song, a journey into the countryside that’s like being in the car with Brian Wilson, Jason Spaceman and Donovan, through the bounce of I Wanted You, the fantastic account of primitive dentistry that is I’ll Be Happy, I’ll Be Sleeping, the Beta Band gone psych-folk of Caterpillar and the singalong closer, Drops In The Ocean, Take Time... is a magical pop opus.
